SOS Save Our Social… Sites!
It was a virtual nightmare today, March 13, 2019, for social media moguls, marketers, influencers and many in between as the two largest social media networking sites experienced outages around the world. Instagram and Facebook users logged in to technical difficulties throughout the day, leaving many frustrated. This is why it’s important to grow other social networks for business. I’ve compiled a list of the best social networks for businesses and bloggers! Take note, so you’re prepared the next time your main network goes down!
The digital rumor mill was buzzing with talk of hackers! Which got me thinking… what if? Facebook was quick to shut down the rumors, taking to Twitter with this post-
“We’re focused on working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, but can confirm that the issue is not related to a DDoS attack” Source
But what if guys? If Facebook or Instagram were to be wiped out, how would that impact you or your business? Whether you use these social platforms for business or personal networking, they hold a lot of information, thus they have a lot of influence. Let’s take this ‘glitch’ as a sign that we shouldn’t rely too heavily on one form of social sharing. Here are 10 social networks you need to be a part of now!
1.) Twitter- Is an online news and social networking service. It’s a great way to communicate in short messages known as tweets. It’s a great platform to post links to your blog or business website, and connect with like-minded individuals through hashtags.
2.) LinkedIn– Known as a social network for professionals, this is a great place to establish your business or blog. You can join company pages and groups- they even have blogger groups. It’s like Facebook in a business suit.
Have You Tried WhatsApp?
3.) Tumblr- The site that lets you share anything- text, photos, quotes, links, music, images, videos, you name it. And it’s free! There are tons of bloggers on here to connect with, in every niche.
4.) WhatsApp- The app uses the internet to send messages, images, audio or video through a messaging service. It’s a great way for businesses to interact securely with customers easily and quickly online, anywhere in the world.
5.) Flipboard- I love this one! It’s a social network and news aggregator that allows you to follow topics and other users. Create ‘Magazines’ and add content from blogs and other websites as well as flip stories from other users into your magazines.
6.) Snapchat- You can share photos, videos, text, and drawings quickly and easily with anyone around the world.Upload ‘stories’ to share, and create snapchat geofilters to promote a business, wedding, or party! It’s a fun way to stay social online.
7.) Reddit– Known for news, social networking, content rating, and discussion, reddit is super popular today! With over 300 million monthly active users, your blog posts could be seen by a whole new audience.
8.) Pinterest– A social site that focuses mainly on images and not on status updates. It’s an excellent way to share your blog posts and website links. The pin feature allows users to share and save other people’s work.
Here’s A Secret!
9.) The Secret Tribe– A platform for bloggers and entrepreneurs to connect with like-minded people, build a community, and grow! So far, I’ve found it to be very helpful. You can ask questions, share links, exchange ideas and support! Check it out and sign up for free here https://the-secret-tribe.mn.co/share/-W82P6PZOSC9uIIp
10.) Medium- An online publishing platform, that brings together writers, thinkers, poets, storytellers, and bloggers alike! You also get paid for your writing through their partner program.
Update: 11.) I’ve recently discovered the Bloggers Traffic Community And I’m so glad I did! It’s free to join and they have helpful topics you can join like Traffic Threads every day. The more you participate, the more traffic you’ll see! They also offer Pinterest group boards, Flipboard threads, and more! The traffic I’m getting from this community alone has been very encouraging and definitely worth a try which is why I’m updating for you all:)
And never forget about the power of the good old fashioned email list. Often underestimated, until Facebook goes down! If you haven’t subscribed to my blog, please do so I can add you to mine:)
