What Are Your Dreams Trying To Tell you?

Classic Dreams With Hidden Messages

Have you ever had the dream where you’re out and you look down and realize you forgot to put your pants on? Or is that just me? How about the dream where you’re slowly loosing your teeth? That one always freaks me out and I swear I can feel it in my teeth when I wake up! Dreams hold a lot of secrets and could be the key to discovering and manifesting your true passion! You’ve probably experienced the common dreams of falling from a building, being chased by a predator, stalked by an animal or that someone is trying to kill you. Or you’re loosing your teeth or show up to work or school completely naked. What does it all mean? Our dreams are like little movies our mind creates in our sleep, but are they really our deeper self trying to tell us something? Or could they be an expression of our hidden desires and feelings? After all, you can’t hide from your subconscious.

If you’ve ever experienced falling from a building or had your teeth fall out in your dreams, you’re not alone. Many of us experience these classic dreams throughout our lives, but what do they mean? Are your dreams trying to tell you something?

The majority of modern scientists and psychologists think of dreams and their meanings as unsolved mysteries. But many of us choose to believe that dreams are a key to our subconscious and our intuitive minds. Regardless of what you believe, there are some common dreams that many of us have experienced and there may be a reason for it.

What Are Your Dreams Telling You

To understand what’s going on in our sleep we have to look at what’s going on in our wakeful world. The guiding hand of the intelligence of soul/higher self/source works in mysterious ways. An understanding of our dreams is the most direct way of tapping into this cosmic intelligence.

Want To Decode Your Dreams?

I recommend using a dream journal, to record and decode your dreams before you forget them! Your dreams hold so many secrets for growth, healing and changing our lives but we often forget them moments after we wake up!

Classic Dreams And Their Meanings

Falling

I’ve had this dream a few times. I’m falling through the air with no end in sight, and it’s absolutely terrifying. I literally experience what it feels like to nearly die, because this dream is always so vivid and real. I usually end up rolling over at the edge of the bed nearly falling off and I’m woken with a jolt and gasping for air. No wonder this dream is often considered a wake up call to get a grip. If you’re experiencing this dream, you may be feeling overwhelmed. You feel like you’re losing control of your life. Maybe you’re worried you’re going to lose your job, your house or your spouse. Or you’re feeling bombarded with demands.

Falling also represents insecurity, instability and reckless behavior.

Loosing Teeth

This is a common dream when you’re going through a big life change. Your teeth might become loose and fall out one by one, or you may dream about your teeth crumbling and falling apart.

This was a common dream for me in my 20s, as I was going through a lot of changes- jobs, relationships, housing. This dream is a symbol of renewal and I was losing a part of my life, growing, and heading into a new chapter. It’s common to experience this dream as a young adult.

Did you know you can manifest someone to dream about you?

Showing Up To Work Or School, Naked

You’re walking in to your office or classroom. It’s a seemingly normal day, until you look down and notice you forgot to put clothes on. You’re completely nude! I’ve experienced this dream a lot in my 20s as well. It freaks me out so much that later that (wakeful) day, I often check several times to make sure I’m fully dressed.

There are often two ways this dream can go.

  • No one notices you’re naked. Ask yourself, what are you hiding? You could be afraid your secrets will be revealed. Or you may be feeling ashamed of something and are afraid of being judged.
  • Everyone notices you’re naked. This is often a symbol of anxiety or a fear of your true self being exposed and criticized.

Dreaming of being nude is a symbol of feeling vulnerable. Sometimes the mind isn’t subtle, and uses shock tactics to get your attention.

A Predator Is Chasing You

Being chased by a predator even if it’s just a dream, is terrifying. If you’re experiencing this type of dream, chances are you’re also feeling threatened in real life. It’s time to look at what’s really chasing you and how to handle that threat before it gets you!

Stalked By An Animal

I used to have dreams of being stalked by a black panther. If you’re being chased by an animal in your dreams, it could mean that you are holding back repressed emotions like fear or aggression and it’s time to let it go.

Dreaming Of Babies

Babies in your dreams are often, quite obviously symbolic of a deep desire to procreate. Also, a sign of your inner desire to be loved, or it could also mean a new beginning.

Death

No this doesn’t mean you or anyone else is going to die. It most likely means the ‘death’ of a career or relationship. A new life path is on its way.

I’m A Terrible Driver, Even In My Dreams

I’ve dreamt that I’m losing control of my car, or that my car is breaking down on the freeway. It doesn’t help that I’m an anxious driver, in real life. But, driving out of control in your dreams is often a reflection of how much control you feel you have in your life. If someone else is driving the car in your dreams, than you are feeling controlled by someone else. Although, not necessarily by the person driving in your dreams. And, if you’re driving the car out of control, than maybe you’re living your life that way- risky and dangerous. Might be time to slow down and stay in your lane.

We each interpret our dreams differently, and these are all just suggestions. The meaning of your dreams will depend on what is happening in your life and in your dreams. If you’re having trouble sleeping, I’ve included some sleep hacks to help induce sweet slumber here.
