Does The Tatcha Face Mask Brighten Me Up Or Leave Me In The Dark?
I’m always looking to try new beauty products that promise to make my face glow, but does the Tatcha Violet C Radiance Mask leave me with a glow or am I left in the dark?
Want to learn how to be pretty inside and out? Check out my related post below:

I love vitamin C and it’s done wonders for my skin so when I heard that one of my fave brands has a brightening Vitamin C mask, I was so interested! I’ve also seen many beauty gurus claim this mask as a holy grail product! I use and love a few other Tatcha products like the rice polish and their silk canvas protective primer! So I thought I would love this mask as well…
The Claim:
Tatcha Violet C Radiance Mask claims to address dullness and uneven texture, dark spots and uneven skin, as well as fine lines and wrinkles. The mask also claims to give you softer, smoother and brighter skin!
Another amazing product for wrinkles is tretinoin.
What Is Japanese Beautyberry?
The Ingredients:
A luxe blend of Japanese beautyberry (is that an actual berry) two types of vitamin C, and AHAs from seven fruits all mixed into a beautiful, creamy pot! This mask contains a water-soluble form of vitamin c that absorbs fast to provide an instant glow, and an oil-soluble vitamin c derivative that penetrates deeper into the skin to provide longer lasting results and protection from UV damage!
The Japanese beautyberry is a superfruit full of antioxidants that helps stabilize the vitamin c to ensure its effectiveness! Where can I buy these berries?!?!
A seven fruit AHA complex gently exfoliate your skin to remove debris and buildup of dead skin cells to improve skin texture and encourage faster cell turnover!
Tatcha Face Mask Review
The application:
The mask is a cute purple colour and has a faint fruity, floral scent. It goes on super creamy like butter. I applied a thin layer over my entire face and let sit for the recommended 15 minutes. It wasn’t drying or irritating at all. In fact wearing it was actually quite pleasant:)

The results:
Meh. I have used this mask 3 times this week and have been left underwhelmed! Though the ingredients are impressive, I’m not sure I noticed much brightening! My skin did seem a little more moisturizer after I rinsed off the mask, which was surprising.
Pros:
It didn’t irritate my sensitive skin at all. Smells nice and left my skin feeling hydrated.
Cons:
It’s expensive at over $80 a pot! I didn’t notice much difference in radiance or brightening. I’m not sure it’s benefits are worth the price tag!

Verdict:
I will admit my bank account is relieved I didn’t love this mask! I’ll stick with my fave vitamin C serum from Youth To The People, which leaves me with glowing, bright skin every morning! So far nothing else even comes close to this!
I’d love to hear some of your glowing skin secrets please!
I think the price wont matter if you get what you want. And since its effective, then enjoy its pros 😉
I love a good face mask. I’ve never heard about the Tatcha Violet C Radiance Mask, I’d love to try.
face masks are my favourite, i have never heard of this product I will have to check it out.
It is good for hydrating but not much for brightening like it claims
I wanted to try this mask but it is pretty expensive. Your review helped. Do you think a prolonged use – like a month – will help in showing the result? I don’t know if I will invest in it!
Hmm I don’t think so:( if after a week I see no real results, I generally give up on a mask:(
My face always feels better after a mask. I’ll have to see about giving your fav a try since it is better and more budget friendly.
Yes try the vitamin c serum! Also I highly recommend a double cleanse! It’s gentle, yet deep cleansing! The oil pulls the dirt out of the pores and the gentle exfoliate buffs and smoothies away everything else! I’ll be putting together a post soon about this wonderful routine!
One of my friend tried it 4-5 times and she too didn’t feel much difference. Agreed, at this much cost, it isn’t worth it if it isn’t working.
I like the water based collagen masks myself. My wallet wouldn’t like that mask either, lol!
Ohh I like collagen!
I haven’t found a mask that I can truly love. Thankful for these reviews that at least I can spare my money to try another.
Tatcha is such a great brand but this mask is a miss:(
$80 dollars a bottle, wow! My hubby would kill me… Thanks for testing it ouf for us. Very insightful
I know! I had a deluxe sample to try otherwise I would have never bought it!
I love face masks but 80 USD for a mask is crazyyyy. Glad you have a serum that your using (and ill be searching for that bdwy). Ever tried korean face mask products?
It’s 80 CAD so I think like 65 usd. Still expensive! I do love Korean skin care products and use a lot of dr jart face masks:)
Steph, thank you for the review. Sometimes people fall after the product for the sake of how it smells and feels. But I am after the effectiveness first.
I’d really love to try this one of these days. Thanks for sharing this article
Well maybe I leave out the price. But yes if both hydration and brightening effects are not coming together then yes should be complained. Hydration is really a pro.
Geesh!! $80 for a face mask is a lot. It’s unfortunate that it didn’t brighten your face the way you expected it to. Now I know not to get it. LOL Thanks for testing this!
I need this in my life! I think it would totally help my skin.
Thank you so much for your review, I’d hate to spend $80 for this face mask and it does not help with brightening. I would like the moisturizing factor of it.
This is a very likeable product indeed! Skin care and beauty products become and are becoming essential with the food and medicine alike. Nice review!
I won’t mind the price of the product if I love the results. Glad for this review. At least I won’t try this product . It’s expensive but underwhelming.
