Choose Your Fonts With Intention

The words you write speak to your audience, but the fonts you use set the tone of what you’re trying to say.

Changing a font can seem so simple, but it can make a huge impact in your overall blog design. Just change your blog’s headers to the creepster font and you’ll see what I mean. The words you write speak to your audience, but the fonts you choose set the tone of what you’re trying to say. If you want the words your write to REALLY speak to your readers, choose your fonts with intention.

How Do You Choose The Best Fonts For Your Blog?

Use your blog voice. What is your blog about? Who is your blog for? What tone would you like to express? If you’re struggling to find your blog voice, check out Brand Development For Bloggers.

Choose a font name with your blog personality in mind. Fonts are usually named with their intent in mind. For example, if you’re a food blogger you could use Yummy Burger in your logo design like I did here.

Finding The Perfect Font Combination has all of these fonts and more. With so many to pick from, how many should you choose to brand your website? Don’t get overwhelmed and don’t overwhelm your readers with too many fonts. I like to try and keep it to two or three font choices. One simple and one fancy. There are a ton of fonts to choose from, so how do you choose the right combination without getting lost? Play around. Experiment with a combination of simple sans sarif and feminine script.
