How Colour And Music Effect Your Mood

Your happiness is effected by your surroundings, which is really great because often we can control our environment. There are many ways to improve your space- reducing clutter, adding scents, letting in more light, and adding music are great ways!

Today, I’d like to focus specifically on two of these things and go into greater detail about how they can make your life better. Color and music can make a big impact in helping you to create a happier space you can truly enjoy. Let’s take a look at how it works.

Happy Spaces

What you see in your surroundings each day plays a huge role in how you feel. If you’re surrounded by visual chaos and mess, you’re going to feel like chaos and mess. That’s why removing clutter is important in your journey to feeling better.

However, you can take it even further by intentionally creating a relaxing area in your most loved spaces. Paint and décor are relatively easy to change in order to create the effect you desire, and music is something you can use to immediately enhance your environment. I feel like these have much greater results than many of us even realize.

Effects of Color

There’s a whole area of study revolving around the psychology of color. It’s big business, actually. Marketers, advertisers, and designers use color all the time to influence the decisions of the public. Advertisers use it to make you feel hungry or excited or to portray loyalty and trustworthiness.

Different colors have been shown to create corresponding moods. You can use that knowledge to set the tone for your space.

For now, I’d just like to share a few colors that are known to promote good feelings! Shades of blue are known to promote a cleansing and calming effect for the mind. Choose soft and neutral hues for the best effect.

If you want to bring a touch of nature to your room, go for a yellowish or beige green.

A clean, bright white may be a good choice if you seek to provide structure to a space that’s feeling out of control… like the living room or home office, am I right?!

Violet is a nice shade for promoting balance and peace, while pink tones are tranquil and soothing.

Music And Your Mood

There’s a reason they say, “Music soothes the savage beast.”

It can have an amazing effect on how you feel. Music is so powerful. One of the reasons music is so powerful is its connection to our emotions. The right music can make you feel motivated and inspired!

It’s also been shown to have an effect on physiological functions. Music can influence our heart rate, pulse, and blood pressure. It can lower levels of stress hormones in our bodies. It also has the power to motivate you and change your mindset!

If you want to feel happier and inspired, turn on some upbeat music! If you want to unwind and calm down, put on some slow, classical tunes.
