In a world that promotes busyness and productivity, we’ve ended up with a stigma against relaxation and having fun. We end up feeling guilty if we sit around, read a book or take a nap! It’s our mindset that in order to be successful, we need to work harder.
While it’s important to have a good work ethic, it’s equally important to take time to feed your soul some good old fashion fun! When you do things that make you feel good, you spark something inside you- inspiring ideas, creativity and energy! And you instantly increase your body’s vibration- attracting more good feelings! Think of how attractive someone looks when they’re having fun, you can’t help but look and want to be a part of it.
So, it turns out relaxing and having some fun will actually make you more productive and successful! Now you have an excuse to take an afternoon off:)
Here are some ways to have a little more fun:

Play a Game
Yes, I mean an actual game. The kind doesn’t matter, as there are benefits to all sorts of games. Board games bring people together. You can connect socially and spend time with those you love.
You also get to use your brain in different ways such as through focusing on strategy or logic. These brainy benefits also come through solo games, too, though. Even a crossword puzzle is a chance to rev up different parts of your brain than you don’t ordinarily use throughout your day.
Digital games deliver benefits of their own, if you prefer an electronic option and aren’t able to get together with others. You might even find an online game that involves opponents or co-players from around the world.
Hang Out with the Kids
Kids teach us the value of fun. If you have your own children, you might find that life’s obligations have gotten in the way of spending much quality time with them. Making time to play with them can return the connection you’ve been missing, while bringing you lots of other fun things.
Kids of all ages have a different perspective on the world than we adults possess. Taking time to play a game or engage in some other leisure activity with them lets you look at the world from a whole new vantage point, which can do wonders for your mood.
Engage in Your Favorite Activity
Choose your favorite activity for unwinding. Even if that’s watching TV, allow yourself the small pleasure of enjoying a great program. Reading a book, heading to the movies, or picking up a hobby like knitting are also good choices. Here are some great hobbies for women! Anything that allows you to escape the stress of your daily life will suffice. As long as it’s something you like and think is fun, do it!
It’s also okay to do nothing at all. Taking some time to enjoy peace and quiet can help you reenergize, and reconnect with what’s really going on inside. It’s definitely something most of us don’t do often enough. So go ahead, and allow yourself some fun, every day! You won’t end up falling behind. You’ll probably end up happier and more productive.
