What is true happiness? We all want to know how to be truly happy! In today’s post I’ll give you some examples of happiness and ways you can be happier right now!

While the dictionary defines happiness as “the state of being happy” that doesn’t exactly explain much about the feeling of happiness or how to achieve it.

For me, happiness is not what I’m actually searching for when I think of being happy. It’s JOY that you really want. Because to me, happiness is something we’re always chasing. And Matthew McConaughey explained it so well in the speech below as an emotional response to an outcome.

For example- I’ll be happy after I get this raise or once things settle down at home and work or once I’ve gotten rid of this stress or that burden. But once you’ve achieved that, you raise the happiness bar again, which makes it short-lived. It’s JOY you’re really after. You want to enJOY life! That’s what truly makes us happy. When you enjoy your life, you’ll be happier and a real high value woman!

True happiness in life doesn’t come from material things. It can’t be bought, but it can be felt! That’s what makes it so amazing- anyone can enjoy happiness.

What Is True Happiness?

Happiness may seem different for everyone. Some might think being pretty, buying a new car, manifesting more money or the perfect partner would bring happiness, and although these things might make you happy it’s not true happiness.

What you really want is to feel JOY! That is true happiness!

True happiness is a state of mind, and that can only come from you. EVERYTHING ELSE IS TEMPORARY.

True happiness is forgiving yourself for your past and letting go. Everyone has the power to be truly happy and when you’re really happy, you GLOW!

How To Be Happy- Are Your Needs Met?

When you’re happy, you take care of your needs. It doesn’t mean that someone is not having a hard time it’s all about how you make what you have fill your needs.

Change your perspective. You likely have everything you need to be happy already!

This doesn’t necessarily take a lot of time or money. It’s usually the simple things that make a big difference in how you feel.

Ask yourself if your needs are being met. Do you have what you need? Are there areas in your life that are lacking? How can you improve your life?

When You’re Truly Happy, You Feel Satisfied With You Life

When you’re truly happy you tend to feel simply satisfied with your life. You think about your life and feel good about it.

You feel grateful for what you have and who you are, instead of focusing on the things you don’t have or the things you need to do in order to be happy.

Set your intentions for the day, every day! Write down how you intend the day to go. Make your happiness a top priority. Make a list of 3 things you’re grateful for every morning. Focus on the things you have and what you’ve accomplished, rather than chasing happiness. You can choose to be happier.

True Happiness Is Being Content

Happiness really is a state of mind. It isn’t that truly happy people don’t have stress- we do! But, we CHOOSE to focus on positive things over the negative. Happy people don’t let the stress nag at their mids and cause stress. They are content more often than stressed.

What you can do right now to be happier
