Who Is Steph?

Steph is a 30something blogger from Canada eh! A used to be journalist who couldn’t give up writing forever, so she created Stephsocial.com!

What started out as a side project, she was able to turn into her passion thanks to a combination of manifestation and hard work!

blog with intention

Whatever you do, do it with purpose. Do it for the long-run. And that’s what we strive to do here! At StephSocial, you’ll find mostly self-help, spiritual, manifestation, personal development and wellness tips but you can also find beauty, blogging, recipes and family stuff! Everything we love, we share! Except husbands;)

Why Me?

Steph has worked in social media for over 10 years. She studied journalism in college and wrote for a few websites and online magazines while in school. One of her more memorable stories included an interview with one of Hugh Hefner’s good friends about what it was like growing up in the playboy mansion (think gum balls, bouncy castles, drugs and affairs with Hugh’s Gf) you can check it out here!

Steph landed her first, full-time writing gig as a staff news reporter at the age of 23. Taking photos and writing articles covering local politics, business stories and features on ‘local celebs’ kept her busy for years. Her work has been published in weekly newspapers across Southern Ontario.

“Not many people get to do what they love for a living. I was… am one of the lucky ones,” she said.

But then social media became a thing! And it was the beginning of the end of the print media industry. The newspaper industry was dead and with it, a little piece of Steph died too 🙁 Years passed without writing a thing (other than the odd Facebook status) and she couldn’t take it anymore. Many pent up ideas led to the creation of Stephsocial.com!

“With my background as a journalist, it made perfect sense to combine social media marketing with my passion for writing and become a blogger,” she explained.

My Spiritual Side

Steph realized at a very young age that we all have a ’secret power’ inside of us. She actually started manifesting small things in grade school but wasn’t fully aware of the concept of the law of attraction and manifesting.

It wasn’t until later in life that she turned to spiritual leaders for more guidance and understanding. Since then, she was able to manifest love, attract money, consciously create success and more all using manifestation techniques.

What You’ll Find Here

about me page

Steph originally created this site as a school project. She recently decided to go back to school to study the ever-changing field of social media marketing. And with that, a passion she thought she had lost forever- writing, designing… sharing, was re-ignited! Steph’s Social Pie became her little slice of social. Her first post was a bit of a personal piece, about what it’s like to live with anxiety. The post received a massive response, and went viral on Pinterest! We since took the Pie out of the name, but not out of our lives;) Now it’s just StephSocial!

“I always thought of bloggers as either beauty gurus or people looking for fame,” she said. “I wasn’t either of those so I wasn’t swhere I fit in. But, I quickly found my place and it almost immediately felt like home.”

And that was her sign to keep on writing, designing and sharing! But being a very private person, she decided to focus her writing on a less personal note!

“It sounds weird because as a reporter and now blogger I’m very much in the public eye, but I’m actually a very private person,” she explained. “Writing, especially online, has allowed me to express myself from the safety of my laptop.”

She now helps others manifest their desires so they can live the life of their dreams!

“I want to inspire people to create lives that they really love and can be proud of,” she said.

The blogging community has been so different than she ever imaged! The support and positive feedback has been overwhelming and beyond what she ever expected. Stephsocial.com now receives over 100,000 monthly viewers and keeps growing! If you’ve ever thought about starting a blog, or re-defining your blog or branding- you are at the right place!
